A practical housekeeping process that connects cleaning tasks with reservations, deadlines, notes, and readiness status.
Start from the booking calendar
The cleaning schedule should reflect check-outs, check-ins, and property availability. This creates a common view for managers and cleaners without copying dates between chats.
Use status and notes
A task needs an owner, deadline, status, and enough context to complete it correctly. Notes should stay with the property task instead of being lost in a message thread.
Confirm readiness before arrival
The final status should make it clear whether the property is ready for the next guest. This allows the manager to resolve issues before the arrival window begins.
How Aplus PMS supports the process
Aplus PMS connects reservations, guests, channel availability, payments, check-in, and housekeeping in one operating workflow. The team works with current information instead of manually reconciling separate tools.
Define a clear room-status flow
Keep the stages distinct: checkout expected, cleaning assigned, work in progress, inspection needed and ready for the next arrival. A single vague status such as “cleaned” does not tell the front desk whether the apartment has actually been checked. Each status change should belong to a named person or role.
Assign work before the shift starts
Use departures and arrivals from the booking calendar to decide which apartments need attention first. Give the cleaner the property details and any notes about damage or missing supplies. When an early arrival changes the priority, update the task rather than relying on a separate chat message.
Confirm readiness, not just completion
Check the entrance, bed linen, bathroom, supplies and any property-specific requirements before marking a unit ready. Record an issue that needs maintenance instead of hiding it behind a finished cleaning task. The guest-facing arrival process should use the confirmed readiness status.
Review bottlenecks each week
Look for late handovers, repeated defects, apartments that require a second visit and unclear responsibility between cleaning and the front desk. A short checklist and a few meaningful exceptions are more useful than extra paperwork for every routine task.
